| There's no shortage of ways to stay active here at Lake Highlander! Here is a list of the organized activity clubs here in our park: Saturday Coffee Hour: Many Lake Highlander residents gather at 9:30 AM on Saturday morning at the clubhouse for one hour of friendly "catching-up" exchanges between residents while enjoying coffee, donuts, and announcements of what has happened during the past week in sports and recreation such as scores for golf, bowling and shuffleboard. Family and friends are welcome. Meet Our "Sunshine Lady", Hazel Turner, a true southern lady through and through. Mixed Bowling League takes place at Dunedin Lanes on Patricia Avenue. Tuesday 12:00. See Pictures at Lake Highlander Bowling League. Bingo: Every Tuesday night at 7 PM, the bingo players of the Park and friends gather to try their luck at Bingo. The enthusiastic and eager players are seeking the "big win". See pictures Shuffleboard: At our modern shuffleboard complex with four covered courts usable in all weather. There is a "Shuffleboard Club" with a large group of members, most of whom play on one of the two "Sterling Shuffleboard League" teams. The "B" team plays on Mondays and the "A" team plays on Wednesdays. Thursday afternoon is set aside for scheduled practice and "Fun Shuffling" but the courts are available for anyone to play at all other times. Click to see Shuffle Club in action. Friday Golf League - All level of players welcome for a great day in the sun. See Golf Page. Ladies' Hobby Club: A comfortable atmosphere for women to share their crafts and learn new ones. Monday 12:30 in clubhouse Bible Study - We meet in the Library at 9:30 AM every Tuesday. This year our Leader is Rev. Don Jones. Many of those who attend Bible Study also regularly attend a Church. For some of us, the Study we have here at Lake Highlander is the only “CHURCH” we have. Come join us especially if you don’t go to an established church. You will be glad you did. Ladies Poker - The Ladies Poker Group meet each Wednesday at 12:00 PM for serious, but fun poker games. All ladies and all skill levels welcome. Click to see our Ladies Poker Group. Book Club - Summer is over and most of the snow birds are returning to their winter nests. I would like to extend an invitation to all the snow birds who like books and lively discussion, to get involved with the book discussion group. Our new season begins on January 14 at 2 pm, in the Multi-Purpose room. The book up for discussion is The Old Man And The Sea, by Ernest Hemingway.
